About the Author

Hey, readers! My name is Tessa Bentulan, and I am so excited to create content for you all. This blog is about the fun activities around the Gainesville area; things you would not usually do with your friends but are totally worth it - the hidden gems. These remarkable destinations are going to make you want to take photo's and show them off on your Instagram! Once a week I will post about an amusing destination waiting for you to explore. 

Before I start posting the extravagant locations, I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I am a senior at the University of Florida. I am studying Telecommunications, and I am on the news track. I am very involved with the Journalism and Communications Schools, Innovation News Center (the newsroom). I am an anchor and producer for Morning Edition and All Things Considered, I am an editor for the UF's news show, First at Five, and I am an anchor/producer for News In 90. I do all the while taking five classes! I have a lot on my plate, but I couldn't turn any of these opportunities down because the news is what I love to do. 

Other than school I really enjoy hanging out with my friends. All the post I will show you is places that my friends and I have visited or want to visit! Recently, my friends and I went to the Haile Plantation Farmers Market. It's open every Sunday from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Haile Plantation is the cutest area around Gainesville! I swear it looks like one of the small towns like Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls or Bluebell from Hart of Dixie. Here is their website, definitely check it out:

A New Chapter

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to give you all a life update. The past couple weeks I have been working on a lot of news stories for school, and a lot of them have been turning out pretty great. Greyhound Adoption

Over the weekend I went to Starbucks in Tioga Town Center , and as I was getting closer to the coffee shop, I noticed a heard of greyhounds in the front of the building. Almost every Saturday, Greyhound Pets of America - Gainesville chapter has meet ups with dogs who are up for adoption. They also have greyhounds and their owners, who were adopted through GPA, come to Starbucks to catch up. They had three dogs up for adoption : Caesar, Euro and Dude. They were beautiful dogs and they're so friendly, they just wanted to be loved and pet all day long.
